Abstract EN

The Cultural life in Algeria has characterized by the presence of diverse intellectual and scientific movement from the early islamic eras until the modern period.

In addition to the emergence of cultural institutions which had played an educational and cultural role within the Algerian society in different historical stages.

As a matter of fact, those institutions were keen to perform their job according to the requirements of each era.

Essentially, education or what we can refer to it as « the eductional movement » serves one of the moste significant job exercised by these institutions.

Thereby, the study aimed at highlighting the educational role of these cultural centers namely; the mosques, pamphlets, corners, schools and endowments, as well as the Sufi methods and their role in spreading education within the Algerian society, especially in the late ottoman period.
