Abstract EN

The current study aimed to reveal the effect of employing a STEM approach in teaching science to develop decision-making skills of gifted pupils in intermediate stage in Afif governorate in Saudi Arabia.

The study followed the quasi-experimental approach with one group design ،with pre and post test ،The study identified (10) basic skills needed for decision making ،and it used a measure of the decision-making skills -prepared by the researcher- It was applied to the study sample which consisted of (18) gifted pupils in the first grade in intermediate stage ،before and after teaching a of the science course using the STEM approach in teaching.

The study has reached the following results: There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) between the mean of the experimental group marks in the pre- and post-application on the total marks ،and on each skill of the basic skills marks for measuring the decision-making skills of gifted pupils in the intermediate stage in favor of post-application ،and Cohen's Coefficient “d” calculation shows that using STEM approach in teaching science has a great effect in the development of each skill of decision making skills of gifted pupils in intermediate stage in Afif Governorate.
