Abstract EN

The research aimed to identify algebraic thinking skills and verify the effectiveness of mathematical logic in developing it among second-grade preparatory school pupils.

The research sample consisted of (40) pupils divided into two groups.

An experimental group (21) pupils studied the two algebra units (real numbers and the relationship between two variables) using mathematical logic, and a control group (19) pupils studied the two units of algebra in the usual method.

The results showed that mathematical logic is effective in developing these skills.

Considering these results, the research presented a set of recommendations, the most prominent of which was the interest in presenting some topics of mathematical logic in the mathematics curriculum for the preparatory school.
