Abstract EN

The current study aimed to test the effect of authentic leadership on work engagement, through the mediation of psychological capital, and data was collected from a survey that was distributed to a sample of (230) employees, working in eight private companies in the city of Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to the results of the analysis, there is a significant positive effect of authentic leadership on both psychological capital and work engagement, as well as a positive effect of psychological capital on work engagement.

Moreover, the results also revealed that psychological capital partially mediates the relationship between authentic leadership and work engagement.

Based on the findings, the study concluded with a set of recommendations aimed at enhancing the role of authentic leadership in achieving positive work outcomes.
