Abstract EN

The Algerian University is facing many transformations as a result of the scientific and knowledge revolution and developments in the field of communication and information, which resulted in changing the economic and social features and developing educational curricula and tools to be in line with this change.

The Algerian University has known several reforms since independence to the present time.

It has encountered some difficulties in implementing them as a result of the lack of the necessary capabilities for this, which resulted in its weak contribution to achieving development in various economic and social fields and led to its isolation and lack of connection with its external environment.

We aim through the current study to highlight the reality of higher education and scientific research in Algeria through its contribution to the development process, to identify the most important difficulties and problems that accompanied the reform process, and to present a vision of how to overcome them.
