The strategic frameworks for combating poverty in Mauritania are based on four main axes aimed at accelerating the growth and macroeconomic stability of the country and by consolidating growth in the economic environment of the poor by developing human resources and expanding basic services to improve governance and increase the country's overall capabilities.

Which are concerned and still concerned by the State at the national level through the national strategy targeted for economic development under the social protection by focusing on the health sector, education and water, and modernization of the infrastructure With attention given to activities that serve the regions most affected by the rural poverty phenomenon and the suburbs of major urban agglomerations, the economic development process in Mauritania since its independence in 1960 has faced some obstacles, namely weak existing infrastructure and underdevelopment in productive structures.

Some economic partners have implemented an anti-poverty program, which represented the general framework of the country's economic policy during the period 2001-2015, which led to the implementation of policies to alleviate poverty under the umbrella of social protection through some national strategic frameworks.
