اتجاهات و تباينات جرائم الانتحار في الأردن : دراسة اجتماعية جغرافية للفترة 2015-2018

This study aims to determine suicide phenomenon volume in Jordan in compared with its global and Arab volume tracking its developments directions in the years:2015-2018, determine the most committees, distribute to gender .The study used the statistical method to achieve its objectives, and the Sum of Rank Index coefficient was used in the classification of Jordanian governorates to show the category Within which these governorates fall into the categories of the level of suicides appropriate in this study.

The study results showed the suicide phenomenon volume in Jordan is very minor when compared with its volume in many countries of the world, especially in Europe, South America and East Asia, and the suicide phenomenon volume in Jordan is very low in relation to its volume in some Arab countries Such as Yemen, Sudan, Egypt and Qatar, meanwhile its adjoining to its volume in some Arab countries such as Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Morocco.

While the general trend of suicide in Jordan was characterized by increase, growth and rise during the period 2012-2018, the percentage of suicides committed by males was significantly higher than females for whole study time line, while the category (18-27 years) was the most committed group of suicides.

The results also showed that there is a geographical (spatial) variation in the distribution of suicides within Jordanian governorates, and that the prevailing spatial pattern of these cases in Jordan is the aggregate pattern, where most of these cases centered in the Middle Region in general and the Capital Governorate in particular.

The study recommended a set of recommendations, including: Conducting more studies of a socio-geographical nature, which focus on giving weight to the various factors affecting the studied phenomenon, and activating the role of various social institutions in raising awareness against suicide risks and its negative impact on society
