Abstract EN

The study aimed to reveal the predictive ability of cognitive distortions in smiling depression.

The study sample consisted of (153) married women in the governorates of Irbid and Ajloun.

Beck's second depression list, Smiling depression scale and Cognitive distortion scale were applied.

The result indicated that, the level of smiling depression, and cognitive distortion among married women in the governorates of Irbid and Ajloun were within the average level.

The results also showed that the relative contribution of the cognitive distortion explaining the variance of smiling depression was (21.3%), which indicated the predictive ability of the cognitive distortion variable in smiling depression .
