Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a training program based on positive discipline to enhance positive parenting of mothers, and alleviate children's behavioral problems.

The sample consisted of (12) mothers, where one-group experimental design was used by applying pre-, post- and follow-up measurements.

Three tools were used: the Positive Parenting Styles Scale, the Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory and the Positive Discipline Program.

The results of the study indicated a statistically significant increase in the level of positive parenting among mothers.

The results also showed that there is a statistically significant decrease in behavioral problems among children in the post-test measurement, and a increase in the follow-up.

Recommendations: There is a need to train mothers in positive parenting styles, especially in the existence of several sources of influence on children.

Also, more training programs for fathers and mothers are needed to encourage the practice of positive discipline.
