Abstract EN

This study investigates the reasons that made Imam Bukhari discard a fundemantal hadith in the chapters of Sahih.

These reasons may vary according to the hadith or chapter, such as reasonable criticism.

In some cases, it may be said that Imam bukhari discarded a certain Hadith because he verified it weak , which may be the case only when the hadith is a fundamental hadith in the chapter.

When a hadith is fundamental , close to meaning and rank , and investigated by other scholars - yet not included by Bukhari- this requires questioning why he discared this fundamental hadith , as he could not have excluded it for selectivity or brevity purposes.

Ibn Salah said in Maintenance of Sahih Muslim, “If one or both scholars discarded a fundamental authentic hadith , this would be the result of a deficiency they were aware of .” In this study , we will investigate other reasons for excluding or discarding fundamental hadiths , which are: contradiction between the connected narratives (wasl) with the fragment narrative (irsal) , and the contradiction between citing the prophet (rafe’e) and citing a sahabi (waqf).
