Abstract EN

The current research aims to extract the standard characteristics of the cognitive motivation scale among university students according to the theory of latent features.

To achieve this goal, the researcher followed scientific steps in the procedures for analyzing the scale, so the researcher adopted the scale (AlNuaimi 2017) To achieve the logical suitability of the items and to find out face validity of the battery scales which include eight scales which are self – effect power ,these scales have been exposed on 14 experts in educational and psychological Sciences .

In the light of the experts notes, some of the scales items have been modified or restated.

No item has been excluded because the agreement percentage among the item experts has been 100% consequently face validity of the tests or a scale has been achieved.

The scales have been applied on a random sample of 100 male and female students selected from the humanity and scientific specialties from the University of Baghdad, in order to assure the clarity of the instructions and the time needed to respond on the scales .

It item of the scales are all clear, in addition the time limit has been specified.

The scales have been applied on 1000 male and female University students, morning classes from the province of Baghdad who have been selected by the stratified random propitiated sampling, in order to identify the psychometric Characteristics of the items and the scales as a whole .

The Generalized gadders un folding model GGUM – 2004 which is on of the item response theory models and by using the GGUM – 2004 program.

Appropriateness of the Generalized Gradient Scout Model (GGUM), as it was found that the scale data fulfills the assumptions of the model, and that all the paragraphs and the overall scale have good standard characteristics, and all the paragraphs were preserved.

•As for the overall scale, the comparison included three types of the truthfulness characteristic.

The results showed that there is convergence and variation in this characteristic, the validity of selecting the behavioral range represented by the total variance ratio, the validity related to the information scales, and the validity of the match represented by the square (G2) of the odds ratio.

•As for the stability property, the results showed that there is convergence and disparity in this characteristic as well, as for stability based on the information function, and stability based on the separation coefficient (G) between individuals and between paragraphs.

In light of the results of the current research, the researcher came to some conclusions, recommendations and suggestions.
