Abstract EN

This research aimed at evaluating the performance of the Mathematics teachers in The Gaza Strip in the light of the international professional standards and putting suggestions for improving the teachers' performance.

In order to achieve this aim, the researcher designed an observation card in the light of the contemporary professional standards, which included 13 main standards and 65 indicators which can be observed during the performance of the teacher of mathematics.

The researcher applied the observation card on 60male and female teachers in Rafah directorate ,and by using the statistical means the results were as follow: - The agreement rate on the professional standards indicators of the performance of the teachers of mathematics among the sample ranged between 22% - 90%.

- The agreement rate on the professional standards of the performance of the teachers of mathematics among the sample ranged between 48%-81%.

In the light of the presence of the weak and intermediate indicators, the researcher supposed suggestions for improving the performance of the teachers of Mathematics.
