Abstract EN

This Study aimed to detect the personality traits that distinguish Students at The Faculties of Medicine, Engineering, and Law and Their relation with Academic Achievement in The University of Jordan .

The sample consisted of (450) undergraduate students in the faculties of Medicine, Engineering and Law at the University of Jordan.

The scale was administered on the research sample .

the factor analysis detected eight factors of the second order.

The eighth factor was omit because it was loaded with two different items.

To confirm the scale's validity, the scale items were reviewed by eight arbitrators from university professors who are specialized in the Educational Psychology to confirm that every item refers to a certain personality trait.

This validity was verified by using discriminative analysis.

Reliability of the personality scale was assessed by calculating the Cronbach Alpha (α) coefficients and the coefficients of reliability for each factor of the scale.

The multiple-regression analysis was used for the students' responses at every faculty of the three faculties (Medicine, Engineering and Law) to determine if there is relationship between the personality traits and the Academic Achievement .This was achieved by considering the variable of personality traits as an independent variable and the variable of Academic Achievement as dependent variable.

The Academic Achievement (GPA) data was collected from the students themselves through the answer the items' scale.

The results of the multiple regression analysis were as follows: At the faculty of Medicine, the fifth factor which contains ambition was a significant predictor of the academic achievement (GPA).

At the faculty of Engineering, the results showed that first factor which contains responsibility and the eighth factor which contains ambition were significant predictors of (GPA).

At the faculty of Law, the fifth factor which contains order was a good significant predictor of GPA.

Other factors didn't have any effect at the same significance rate
