Most Arab grammarians adopted a unified attitude towards the Quranic Readings which violate the grammatical rules in that they gave priority to the rule not to the reading.

This attitude forced them to deny and weaken all the violating readings, a fact resulted in reactions among early and modern grammarians.

However, Abo Mansoor Al-Azhari has adapted a different path that disting wished him from others during that era.

The new path enabled him to absorb the rule and the reading simultaneously without the need to refute one of them.

The characteristics of this new path are evident through his linguistic choices and preferences in his book "The Meaning of Readings" where he gave priority to the reading that disagree with the prevailing rule on the condition that there were other acceptable weak rules.

Abo Mansoor Al-Azhari had also gave credit to the reading considered weak by grammarians, and he would often accept two different linguistic forms without any preference.

Al-Azhari used to select the correct readings relying on some criteria, the most important of which were the acceptability of the reading according to linguistic analogy the agreement of most readers.

He chase auhentic readings according to some objective scientific stardereds including prioritizing the anthentic over the anamolous reading, accepting the linswistic staudards, consensus of most narrators, the stresth of narration, the acceptability of the interpretation of the rendings.
