Teaching aspects of connected speech for second year students at university level

Teaching Pronunciation at the university level is one of the most tiresome and time-demanding tasks especially when there is lack of technology and teaching aids which are not available.

Aspects of connected speech is one of the areas that pose difficulty for the teacher and for the students while teaching and practicing respectively.

Sounds are influenced by other sounds in their immediate environment , taking on different characteristics as a result, hence posing difficulties for students.

This paper is aimed at presenting firsthand experience in teaching aspects of connected speech through some extra activities and exercises that helps the students better understand and produce them; how to familiarize students with the use of these aspects and how to overcome these difficulties.
