Abstract EN

The study aims to design a comprehensive framework and rational basis for shaping curriculum modification using evidence-based practices in the field of education for the deaf and hard of hearing.

The study is designed to identify modification models that must be followed when teaching students who are deaf and hard of hearing.

Thus, this study includes five major questions based on an analysis of the current situation in schools.

As a starting point, the study investigates the available literature, reviewing related laws and legislation, experimental research studies and international experiences associated with curriculum modification in the field of the deaf and hard of hearing.

The results of the study help to establish a framework of curriculum modification, which will build a bridge to enable students who are deaf and hard of hearing to study the general education curriculum in the least restrictive environment.

Moreover, the results of the study will help to enhance these students’ academic, cognitive and language skills and reduce the gap between deaf and hard of hearing students and their hearing peers.
