This paper aimed to investigate the characteristics of students with non-verbal learning difficulties among a sample of mainstream school students and their peers in public school.
Twenty-two students were selected as a Participants of the study; (N=9 in a mainstream school, N0=11 in a public school).
Non-verbal learning disabilities diagnostic test (researcher), Stanfod-binet Intelligence Scale (fourth edition) was used as the study tools.
The results have shown that there are significant differences between the sample of students with non-verbal learning disabilities in a mainstream school and their peers in public schools in; written expression and spelling and handwriting, use of vocabulary, visual perception, motor coordination, communication skills, and social/emotional skills.
While, the results showed no significant differences in; reading and reading comprehension skills, math and reasoning arithmetic.
Significant differences were found between the students with non-verbal learning disabilities in mainstream schools and their peers in public schools on the total score of the Non-verbal learning disabilities diagnostic test.
The study recommends the need to provide a specialized teamwork in the public schools to deal with non-verbal learning disabilities.
