Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the status of practicing the alternative evaluation strategies and its tools by the higher basic cycle science teachers in Jordan.

The study sample consisted of 146 teachers who were chosen randomly from the schools at Mafraq Borough Directorate of Education for the academic year 2014/2015.

A questionnaire was developed to measure the variables of the study, including 58 items distributed to eight areas to ensure its validity and reliability.

The results of the study showed that the degree of science teachers practicing of alternative evaluation strategies and its tools in Mafraq Borough Directorate of Education was moderate.

They also showed no statistically significant differences in the degree of science teachers' use of alternative evaluation strategies due to the impact of sex, educational qualification and experience.
