Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the relationship between the level of the professional ambition and job performance among the administrative staff at the universities of the southern region in Jordan from their perspective as well as identifying the differences significance due to the variables of gender and experience.

The study sample consisted of (210) employees of the administrative staff (managers of departments and heads of sections) at the universities of the southern region in Jordan.

Findings revealed that the professional ambition and job performance among the administrative staff at the universities of the southern region of Jordan from their perspective was of a medium level.

The results also showed that there is a statistically significant relationship at the significance level of (0.05≥) between the level of professional ambition and job performance with its dimensions.

The study recommended the need for the universities to available suitable organizational climate for their employees, in which have the elements of job enrichment and diversity of tasks and vitality in order to increase the level of professional ambition is available, which in turn contribute to raising the level of functionality
