الذكاء الانفعالي لدى ذوي الاضطرابات السلوكية من الأحداث الجانحين مقارنة بالعاديين في ضوء بعض المتغيرات

Abstract EN

The study aimed at identifying the emotional intelligence level among those with behavioral disorders of juvenile delinquents compared with the normal people in Jordan and its relationship with some variables (charge type, misdemeanor, the governance nature, crime repetition, gender and age).

The sample consisted of 238 male and female students who are between 12-18 years old.

They are 118 delinquents and 120 normal.

The accurate emotional intelligence scale, prepared by the researchers, was used taking into consideration the validity and reliability.

The data were statically processed by finding frequencies, percentages, T-test and one way ANOVA.

The results showed that the level of emotional intelligence among the delinquents was medium and that the adaption and stress management were at lower level of emotional intelligence aspects.

In addition, there are statically differences in all aspects of the emotional intelligence for normal people comparing with delinquents and the lowest level of emotional intelligence was for the delinquents convicted for more than a year while the highest level of emotional intelligence was for the people who have never entered into jail within the aspects of emotional intelligence, empathizing with others and stress management.

The results also showed high level in the social communication aspects but there are no age, gender and charge type differences.
