Abstract EN

The current study aimed to investigate the impact of the use of computers in teaching modeling and optemization and rates associated in time subjects in Mathematics for 12th grade on developing problem solving skills as well as students’ achievement and their attitudes towards mathematics.

The study employed the Qusi-experimental approach.

The study sample consisted of 50 female students in the 12th grade science streem at Al-Rifa Secondary School for girls during the second semester of the 2011\2012 academic year.

Students were divided into two groups, 25 students in an experimental group which was taught maths with computers and a control group which was taught in the traditional way.

The results of the study pointed to the positive impact of learning mathematics using computer software on the development of problem solving skills, achievement, and attitudes towards mathematics compared with students who studied in the traditional way.

The results showed statistically significant differences at the level of (α = 0.05) between the experimental and control groups in each of the three variables.
