Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the attachment patterns and their relationship with future anxiety of children in orphanages in the Capital Governorate (Amman).

The sample composed of (30) child, (15) male and (15) female, withdrawal as available from the original study population, which consisted of (52) children age ranged between (16 - 18) years old, and live in orphanages - ministry of social development in the capital Governorate (Amman).

To achieve the objectives of the study, two tools have been developed for this purpose, which are: scale of attachment and scale future anxiety, reliability extracted by arbitrators reliability and construction reliability, and to extract validity for both instruments Cronbach's alpha coefficient was extracted, the results indicated a correlation statistically significant between the anxious pattern and avoidant pattern of attachment with future anxiety, while the results did not indicate a correlation statistically significant between the secure pattern of attachment with future anxiety, the results show that there were no statistically significant differences between males and females in the patterns of attachment (secure, anxious, avoidant), while the results indicated a statistically significant differences between male and female on a scale of future anxiety, future anxiety was higher among males.
