Abstract EN
The current study aimed to identify and compare the brain dominance for normal students and students with learning mathematics difficulties.
The sample of the study was selected randomly and consisted of (107) students from the grades 7, 8 and 9, and 87 students of learning mathematics difficulties of the same age group.
In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher constructed a questionnaire to identify the brain dominance of the brain’s hemisphere.
The face validity of the instrument was confirmed by the judges.
while, the constructed validity was calculated through extracting correlation coefficient between the scores in their right and left hemispheres and total scores .
The reliability of the instrument was confirmed by using Cronbac Alfa formula The results showed that the pattern of the brain dominance among normal students was equal whereas the right hemisphere was the dominant for the students with learning mathematics difficulties.
Such result was confirmed by the statistically significant differences between the scores of students with learning mathematics difficulties in their right and left hemispheres and they were in favor of the right hemisphere.
Furthermore, There were statistically significant differences between the right and the left hemispheres for normal students.
The differences were in favor of the left hemisphere and hence it was the dominant.
Also, the results indicated statistically significant differences in the left and right hemispheres of the brain between normal students and those with learning mathematics difficulties.
The differences were in favor of normal students, i.e., the use of the right and left hemispheres in normal students was higher than those with learning mathematics difficulties
