Abstract EN
The study aimed at identifying the role of Islamic teacher's in facing the intellectual distractions for the secondary school students in Saudi Arabia from the perspective of Islamic education teachers.
A sample of (120) Islamic education teachers from Abha and Khamis Mushait cities were selected in a stratified random manner.
A 24-item, valid and reliable questionnaire devised by the researcher was utilized in data collection.
The results of the study revealed that the school activities can play a prominent role in facing intellectual distractions by hosting some of the religious leaders and community leaders and figures at the school for open discussion with the students about the new topics in relation to the faith.
Also, it confirms the Islamic teacher’s responsibilities to do researches about the causes of intellectual distractions and how to solve and deal with them.
Finally, this study revealed the importance of taking into account the age of the student while teaching students about intellectual deviations in order to produce effective citizens.
In the light of the findings, the researcher recommends that school principals and Islamic teachers have to encourage students to design school activities in order to meet their needs.
Moreover, the school curriculum should focus on how to improve the high thinking skills for high school students because they will have cognitive ability to distinguish between the right and wrong ways.
Finally, the researcher recommends to take into account the importance of partnerships between public and private sectors which would help the design makers in the Ministry of education to achieve its educational goals.
