The study aimed at recognising the predictive ability of general secondary education score and criterion space score (modified score of a course) on predicting abstract thinking.
The study sample consisted of (795) students of Aqsa female University.
Gilbert's abstract thinking scale, which was Arabized by Almqoshi (1992), was administered to the study sample.
The study data consisted of the final scores of eight requirement courses of the College of Science and College of Education in the second semester of the academic year 13 / 2014.
Results showed that there was statistically significant correlation between general secondary educati0n score and criterion space score (i.e.
correlation coefficient was 0.543) on one hand and obstruct thinking on the other hand (i.e.
correlation coefficient was 0.444).
Furthermore, it was indicated that there was a significant correlation between criterion space score and abstract thinking (correlation coefficient was (0.398).
Additionally simple regression analysis indicatel that while general secondary education ever age showed (29%) of regression in criterion space score and (19.61%) of region in abstract thinking score.
More over, multiple regression analysis indicated that general secondary education score and criterion space score as independent variables explained (23.4%).
Of regression in abstact thinking and this result confirmed the out performance of general secondary education score ability over criterion space score in predicting abstract thinking among AL-Aqsa University female students.
