Abstract EN

This study aims at identifying the availability of education’s global standards of gifted students in Jamal Abdulnasser School's gifted students program in Sana'a in relation to: a) the system of accepting the gifted students, b) the system of selecting and training their teachers; c) the availability of enriching curricula, and d) the availability of guidance services for the gifted students.

The researchers employ the survey and descriptive approach, building mainly on the American National Association Standards List of gifted students’ education after testing its reliability and validity.

It consisted of (48) items distributed over the four evaluation areas.

Statistical techniques such as Means, Standard Deviations, Percentages, and T-Test were used.

The participants of the study were (36): all the school's teachers and its administrative staff.

The study shows that the availability degree of the global standards in the areas, (a, b, c) is average, and weak in (d).

It concludes with some recommendations, the most important of which are: a) paying attention to guidance services offered to the gifted students; b) improving the enriching curricula in the light of the global standards; and c) providing enough training courses for the teachers.

The researchers also suggest conducting further studies on developing the program through providing enriching curricula, guidance programs, and training programs for those teachers who taught the Gifted students at the school.
