Abstract EN
This study aimed to identify the impact of micro-blogging (social networking, Twitter) in developing the summarization skills of the students of Faculty of Education in the prescribed course of methods of teaching Arabic language.
The researcher used quasi-experimental approach based on (pre and post dimensional designs (for experimental and controlled groups)) to answer the study.
The sample of the study consisted of 50 students selected in a purposive manner, they were divided equally between the two groups.
To realize the objectives of the study, the researcher prepared a list of the most important appropriate summarization skills for students of the Faculty of Education and a test for summarization skills, the study concluded to the results that confirmed the existence of difference with statistical significance between the mean of the scores of the dimensional summarization skills test of the both groups for the favor of the experimental group, which confirms the existence of a positive impact for the use of micro-blogging) Twitter in developing the summarization skills of the sample.
The study has produced after results analysis and their interpretation a number of recommendations, including the emphasis on the use of micro-blogging technology in learning processes and the need to educate the teachers of the prescribed academic courses at universities with the importance of the use of such technologies in education.
