Abstract EN

This study aimed at determining the degree of proficiency of the sixth grade students in the dictation skills in Arabic language in the light of the gender variable.

The study sample consisted of (63) students from AlJubaiha Boys School and Al-Nour Al-Jadid School, the male students reached to (30) students, While the number of female students reached to (33) students.

To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher adopted the descriptive analytical approach.

As well as the dictation skills test which consists of (4) questions were built and the validity and reliability of the test has been guaranteed.

The study revealed that the degree of proficiency of the sixth grade students in the dictation skills in Arabic language was high, a list of dictation skills that sixth grade student should be proficient in it was detected.

There are no statistically significant differences at the level of (α 0.05) in the proficiency of dictation skills, the skills of "writing letters in the last word, and "the skill of" writing "(tannwin, hamzah, … ).

Among 6th Grade students attributed to gender, and there is statistically significant differences at the level of (α 0.05) in the proficiency of dictation text Among 6th Grade students attributed to gender.

The researcher recommended applying modern methods in training students on dictation skills
