The understanding of writing requires the reader, the establishment of an approach that promotes the receptivity of meaning by using its pre-knowledge and encouraging the development of assumptions on the text to read.
This text must have an effect on his reader, who must be able to exploit his indices of various natures and rely on strategies that vary according to the type and purpose of reading.
This article attempts to highlight the activity of reading in a class especially that of the first year of secondary school.
We want to expose the phenomenon of inference and its impact on the success or not of a written communication.

Résumé : La compréhension d’un écrit nécessite chez le lecteur, la mise en place d’une démarche qui favorise la réceptivité du sens en faisant appel à ses pré-connaissances et en encourageant l’élaboration d’hypothèses sur le texte à lire.
Ce dernier doit avoir un effet sur son lecteur, qui doit être en mesure d’exploiter ses indices de natures diverses et de s’appuyer sur des stratégies variables selon le type et le but de lecture.
Nous tentons par cet article de mettre en lumière l'activité de la lecture dans une classe de FLE particulièrement celle de la 1ère année secondaire.
Nous voulons ainsi exposer le phénomène de l'inférence et son impact sur la réussite ou non réussite d'une communication écrite.
