Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the instructional skills mastered by teachers of children with hearing disabilities, and to determine the extent to which this ability can be reached in terms of levels of control (high, medium, weak).

The study also investigated the teachers’ needs according to the gender and professional experience variables.

The data were collected using a questionnaire prepared for this purpose.

This questionnaire was applied after its validation on a sample of 53 teachers of hearing disabled children in El Oued, Ouargla and Laghouat.

The results show that the control levels of teaching skills were grouped into three levels: Skills of high level of mastering (2 out of 9): explanation and strengthening of personal relationships with students.

(7 out of 9): planning for teaching, preparing students for the lesson, managing the first meeting, asking classroom questions, managing the classroom, and capturing students’ attention and the explanation skill.

Results also show the there are no statistically significant differences in some teaching skills in terms of the level of control and teaching needs according to gender variable.

There are statistically significant differences in other skills in terms of the level of control and teaching needs related to the professional experience variable.
