يقدم هذا البحث دراسة شاملة و مفصلة لأغراض تحديد المكونات المعدنية و الكيماوية و التوزيع الكلي للحجوم المختلفة لرسوبيات بحيرة اللسان جنوب شرق البحر الميت-الأردن.
حيث وجد أن ترسبات جزيرة اللسان الحالية تعتبر ترسبات كربوناتية من عمر الهولوسين-العصر الرباعي، و هي عبارة عن رقائق حولية فاتحة و داكنة يشكلها تركيب معدني مختل.
و بينت الدراسة أن الرقائق الفاتحة تتكون من معدن الأراجونايت في الغالب، و نسبة قليلة جدا من معادن الكالسايت و الدولومايت و بتوزيع حجوم حبيبات أقل من 38 ميكرون و ذات ترسيب كيمياوي بدرجات حرارة فصلية مرتفعة، بينما الرقائق الداكنة فهي تتكون في الغالب من معادن الكالسايت و الكوارتز و بعض المعادن الطينية مثل الكاولينايت و الإيلايت و السميكتايت بالإضافة إلى القليل من معادن الجبص و الدولومايت، و ذات حجوم حبيبات أكبر نسبيا من الرقائق الفاتحة و ذات ترسيب ميكانيكي للمواد القادمة من المناطق المجاورة خلال فصل التغذية العالية للمياه كذلك ترسيب كيمياوي ثانوي للمعادن ذات التركيز الأيوني العالي في تلك المياه، مثل معدن الجبص، كما أكدت ذلك نتائج التحاليل الكيمياوية و الدراسات المعدنية لتلك الترسبات.
Abstract EN
A detailed and comprehensive study regarding quantitative and qualitative mineralogical, chemical and grain size analyses of different Lisan Peninsula deposits southeastern Dead Sea of Jordan had been carried out.
The recent Lisan Peninsula deposits are of Holocene (Quaternary) carbonate sediments which were deposited as varves light and dark laminae with different mineralogical and chemical composition.
The light laminae varves are composed of aragonite in general and traces of calcite and dolomite with size fractions less than 38 micron.
They were deposited chemically during highly temperature seasons.
Dark laminae varves are mainly composed of calcite, quartz, some clay minerals : kaolinite, illite and smectite and traces of gypsum and dolomite,
