The research aims to identify the concept of E-communities of practice, learn about its impact on the professional development of staff members, identify the most prominent experiences of universities in some foreign countries in applying E- communities of practice to achieve professional development of staff members, present a comparative analysis to the applications of E- communities of practice to achieve professional development of staff members in comparison universities, presented the reality of the Egyptian universities efforts in applying E- communities of practice, Exposing the most prominent obstacles facing professional development of staff members in Egyptian universities, The research has come up with proposed procedures to assist Egyptian universities in applying E- communities of practice to achieve professional development for staff members in light of benefiting from some foreign experiences in this field.
