This study aimed to investigate the practice of administrative empowerment among the academic and administrative leadership at the University of Najran.
To achieve this aim, the study has adopted a descriptive and analytical approach.
A questionnaire was used as an instrument for collecting data.
After conducting the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, it has been distributed on the study sample which included all the academic and administrative leadership at the university whose number is (123) academic and administrative leaders.
The most important findings of the study is that the degree of the practice of administrative empowerment in general was intermediate among the academic and administrative leaders (deans , vice-deans, heads of departments, and directors of departments).
Besides, the study revealed that the largest degree of practice of administrative empowerment was in the field of effective communication, and the least practice was in the field of personal development.
The study has recommended increasing the degree of the administrative empowerment at the university by increasing the degree of mandating of authority.
Besides, the study recommended conducting training courses for personal development and teamwork, in addition to the necessity to find a mechanism for selfstimulation.
Further, the study recommended a proposal for conducting a study on the obstacles of administrative empowerment at the University of Najran, in addition to another study on the impact of the administrative empowerment on the academic and administrative performance.
Moreover, a comparative study is recommended on the status of the administrative empowerment in the Saudi universities.
