Abstract EN

This paper attempts to study the relationship between women and development in Hadhramaut, the Coast.

It is known that the sustainable and human development is the goal sought by most of the peoples of the Earth.

All Governments and international organizations attention has been directed to involve both men and women towards equitable development.

Since apparent vision for development gives the greatest weight to men in the movement andwomen on the margins.

knowledge of women's economic, social ,and demographic conditions is very important, because it shows the qualitative variation in participation, and constitutes an introduction to the integration of women in sustainable human development components.

And opens up to achieveone of the objectives of the third millennium: a balanced development involving both men and women.

Results indicate the following: First: women dominance is commonly focused in rural areas .

This is a great advantage in the promotion of rural development in General and agricultural development in particular Secondly: the high proportion of economically active women while decrease the size of the labour force which has a negative impact on development.

Thirdly: education has been reduced among women community, especially in the countryside and this affects the integration of women in development component, particularly in rural areas.

The study concluded that human development programs should be revised and sustainable development should be assessed and then evaluated .

Development programs should be planned to include the integration of women in development component for rural and urban, with priority given to rural women.Moreover, women should be politically empowered by giving them certain ratios in parliamentary representation, whether General or local parliaments.

Finally, the development of economic characteristics of women through training programs for managing small projects in order to raise the level of their income and improve their standard of living and ensure their integration in the developmental
