Abstract EN

This study aims to analyze the causes of the development of the cessation of the activity of several small and medium enterprises by regions in Algeria by time factor and demographic factor.

By examining the causal link between new SME establishment variables and the failure variable of other institutions, in addition to the variable activity of some SME in the same year using PANEL DATA for the period 2003 -2017.

The results of this study have shown that the failure of small and medium enterprises is closely linked to the development of the responsiveness of small and medium enterprises in previous periods in all regions of Algeria, which can be interpreted as In the short term, due to the very high sensitivity resulting from the increase in the volume of production of institutions of the same specialization, .

The development of investments in this sector varies from one region to another.
