Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the reality of online purchase in the West Bank and identify the pros and cons resulting from the use of this method of shopping.

The study has found very important results related to the reality, such as the concerns the customers have for their information security when using e-Commerce websites, as for the elements of the purchase reality which received a medium approval has included a range of preferences for buyers such as paying by credit card instead of using a service such as PayPal; as well as their preference to buy online over traditional purchases without their will to submit or save their credit cards in the e-Commerce sites to facilitate frequent purchases.

The study also found many advantages: Online buyers can track order status and delivery status, it also allows the buyer to compare different brands & trademarks of selected products.as well as providing higher quality products, and it reduces the cost of selected products by finding the best offers & products at a price that suits the buyer.

As for the advantages, one of the most important cons would be, there is usually a lack of support and communication between the seller and customer as is the case in traditional shopping.

Another advantage would be that it is difficult to issue a refund in the case of cancelling the purchase.

Last but not least products purchased online could sometimes not fit the description and specifications listed about it.
