Abstract EN

Protest movements have become an established cultural phenomenon that is reflected in people's accumulating experiences and practices.

Accordingly, Algeria is one of the countries that witnessed a paradigm shift at the level of group awareness since February, 22nd, 2019.

Notably, Algerians expressed their social, political, and economic concerns revealing their ability to change which has become a feature of their movement besides the organizational maturity and social mobilization.

This study addresses protest movements in Algeria, i.

, Al Hirak of February 22nd as a research topic, in addition to revealing the social factors that had been driving its adoption in Algerian cities.

Besides, the specificity that characterized Algeria's movement within its space and time was determined.

Furthermore, this paper opens new avenue to discuss the relations between Al Hirak-makers and all parts of Algerian society, and highlight Al Hirak changing course significance to achieve social and economic security.
