Abstract EN

The French Associations law of 01 July 1901 is one of the most important French laws, which contributed to the consolidation of civil freedom for individuals and groups in accordance with the principles of the French Revolution of 1789.

It is considered as one of the very few laws that has benefited the Algerian people and made them move towards a new stage of the struggle against the colonial regime.

The opening up to associative institutions as a result of the adoption of this law will open a new chapter of struggle for Algerians, which will be known later as the stage of peaceful political struggle and the Algerian national movement.

The Algerians were able to exploit the content of the law and apply it to their advantage, and getting around the Indigenous Law, which prevented them from any collective or social solidarity activity of any kind, as well as intelligent circumvention of other restrictive laws of the collective institutions, such as the Trade Unions law 1884 and the Mutual Unions law 1894
