Catherine is one of the most important and historical monastic religious monuments in the world.

It is one of the few global examples that have not undergone significant changes in its artistic and architectural style since its construction in the sixth century until today.

Saint Catherine's Monastery mosque is full of writings, some of which appeared after the restoration work by the Egyptian Antiquities Authority in 1986.

The present study aims at studying and publishing a collection of Arabic memorial writings recorded in it, which dates back to (500 AH/1106 CE), especially those writings recorded in the main mihrab, analyze their texts, and highlight information about the writers, if possible, to draw conclusions that benefit the purpose of the research.

These writings were written by a group of Muslim visitors from different countries, because the Monastery is located in the ancient trade route linking Egypt, Syria and Arabia.

The discovery of this collection of writings drew the attention of scholars who are interested in studying the Monastery's relations and contacts with the rest of the Sinai Peninsula to the history of the Monastery and its treasures.
