Abstract EN

For many years, the black race suffered from various forms of deformation and misrepresentation of their image and history; a scheme deftly carried out by both Americans and Europeans.

August Wilson is an African American playwright whose dramas evolve out of these historical and cultural dilemmas.

His dramaturgy is inspired by his belief that there is an identity problem among African Americans living in the United States.
