Abstract EN

Two hundred birds (Hubbard strain) with 3 replicates of 40 birds / each were carried out to evaluate the efficacy of 2 anticoccidial drugs and a vaccine.

The anticoccidial drugs (maduramicin and robe dine) were given in feed of the birds at one day of age while the vaccine was given to the birds at the third day of age.

The challenge technique was used to evaluate the efficacy of vaccine and the anticoccidial drugs using unspecified intestinal forms of speculated oocytes of Eimeria.

The performance of experimental birds were recorded according to the mortality rate, weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion ratios.

The parasitological parameters including total oocyte output / gm of feces, sporulation time of oocyte in hours and intestinal lesion scores were also studied.

Histopathological changes in the intestinal wall were also recorded.

From the present investigation, the vaccine failed to prevent the coccidian infection completely while robe dine was more effective than maduramicin.
