The present study was designed to determine the toxic effects of deltam-ethrin (DT) at dose level of 0.12, 0.06 mg / kg b.

administered daily by oral route for 5 weeks on some biochemical parameters of male Albino rats including liver and kidney function tests, blood picture and histopathologically picture of the liver and kidney.

The study revealed that rats treated with both doses of deltamethrin showed a significant decrease in serum total protein (TP), serum albumin and serum globulin (G) and a significant increase in serum aspartate aminotransferase (AST), serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and alkaline phosphatase activity.

The hematological parameters, RBCs showed a significant increase while there was a significant decrease in HB content with a marked microcytic hypochromic anemia which was indicated by low mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC).

A marked increase in WBCs count specially in neutrophils were observed while there was a marked decrease in lymphocytes The histopathologically picture revealed that there was a severe conge-stion of the portal blood vessels, massive infiltration of portal area with lymphocytes and pressure atrophy of hepatocytes with psychotic nuclei while the kidney showed congestion of intertubular blood vessels.
