Abstract EN
Five fresh water ponds in Hadhramout south-east Yemen, were surveyed for the presence of invertebrate animals.
These ponds were surveyed seasonally through the year 2013 for the first time.
A total of 25 genera were identified, they belong to eight major groups, they are 3 Nematoda, 2 Gastrotricha, 8 Rotifers, 1 Ostracoda, 2 Oligochaeta, 3 Hirudinea, 1 Gastropoda and 5 insecta.The results showed that, all the ponds contain nearly the same taxa, except that the only gastropod taxa was not recorded from ponds I , II and V .Also, the only recorded ostracod taxa was not present in ponds I and II.The results also revealed the diversity of invertebrates that these ponds house .-
