In this article we try to follow up the phenomenon of piracy/maritime Jihad on the knowledge accumulation level which lead to adopt a specific term: Why some people prefer to call the issue maritime Jihad? Meanwhile, others refer to it as a robbery that troubled maritime transports for a long time in the maritime populations history? Starting from these questions we try to figure out this phenomenon by referring to different writings which discussed the case during the middle age in Islamic west countries, by examining Islamic west countries, by examining looking to many international conventions that was convened by Moroccan State and the European ones, especially the Italian cities, in the middle age
