Imam Ibn al-Qayyim is considered one of the most famous denials of metaphor in the language and the Qur'an, as he sees that saying metaphorically is one of the most important methodologies of the Mutakallimūn that they used to deny the divine attributes.

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim discussed those who said the metaphor at great length.

The saying denying the metaphor in the language and the Qur'an is the only opinion of Ibn al-Qayyim, and Ibn al-Qayyim has no other opinion about accepting the metaphor, neither at the level of theory nor at the level of application, but in later eras a number of researchers have raised that Ibn al-Qayyim has two opinions about the metaphor.

At the theoretical level, and saying by accepting metaphor, as he practiced at that level of action, and these have inferred a number of evidence to prove their opinion of Ibn al-Qayyim's double standards in his position on the metaphor, and most of this evidence does not escape from the opposition upon discussion and scrutiny, and this research investigates the proportion of the saying metaphorically Ibn al-Qayyim, and he examines the evidence of those who say that Ibn al-Qayyim has multiple opinions about it and discusses it scientifically, and concludes that Ibn al-Qayyim has only one opinion, which is the negation of metaphor
