Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the strategic vigilance in Palestinian Universities in the southern West Bank and its relationship to achieving competitive advantage from the viewpoint of academics.

The study followed the descriptive analytical method.

The sample of the study consisted of (66) academics working in public, private and governmental Universities.

The researcher used a questionnaire consisting of (44) items.

The results of the study indicated that the degree of strategic vigilance in Palestinian Universities in the southern West Bank was high.

It was also found that the degree of competitive advantage was high.

The study demonstrated a statistically significant correlation between strategic vigilance in all its fields and competitive advantage.

The study came out with a number of recommendations, the most important of which are: (The University should follow the goals of competing universities prior to setting their goals, working to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (swot analysis to developing strategies).
