Abstract EN

The Secretary-General of the United Nations has established the Office of the Ombudsman within the framework of the United Nations system of administration of justice, and has been given the task of examining communications submitted by staff members of the organization because of illegal administrative decisions issued against them or as a result of their exposure to harmful practices.

The office is considered an informal mecanism that provides the desired remedies and avoids the employee's judicial process, as its importance appears through his contribution to strengthening the settlement mechanisms, and this is reflected in the organization of awareness-raising activities aimed at building the capabilities of employees to manage the conflict and follow the approach of investigation, communication and cooperation with the Secretariat and other Professional bodies to improve functional relations.

Le bureau du médiateur au sein de l'Organisation des Nations-Unies est chargé d'examiner les plaintes soumises par les fonctionnaires de l'organisation en raison de décisions administratives illégales prises à leur encontre ou du fait de pratiques préjudiciables qu’ils subissent.

Le bureau est considéré comme un mécanisme informel qui fournit les solutions souhaitées et évite le processus judiciaire au personnel.

Ainsi, apparait son importance dans la contribution au renforcement des mécanismes de règlement, ce qui se reflète dans l'organisation d'activités de sensibilisation visant à renforcer les capacités du personnel à gérer le contentieux selon l'approche d’investigation et de communication, et la coopération avec le Secrétariat et d’autres organismes professionnels afin d’améliorer les relations fonctionnelles.
