Islam was distinguished by moderation, as it brought justice, equality, freedom, tolerance, and cooperation.

This research shows the effect of the moderation (alwasatiat) of Islam in dealing with non-muslims people (Ahl – edhimma) – as Christians, Jews, Sabeans, and others – in building the civilization of Muslims, and explains the role played by dhimmi doctors in the Islamic West and Egypt in the development of medical sciences.

We concluded that the moderation of Islam motivated the people of devotion to innovate and develop medical sciences, so they contributed to building an Islamic human civilization.
