Academic counseling is one of the types of counseling and is of great importance in achieving psychological compatibility for individuals, especially university students, since the university stage has many problems and obstruct the level of student compatibility such as: exam anxiety, academic stress, low achievement, lack of time available to study, and poor motivation to learn And low self-concept, and social and psychological pressures, the academic counseling has a profound role in improving the level of psychological compatibility among undergraduate students, so we will try in this paper to highlight ways and methods of academic counseling, by shedding light on the foundations A theory of academic guidance, its concept, objectives and journals, with the characteristics and meals of the academic advisor.
