This paper strove to elucidate the aesthetic and structural principles on which James Joyce's novel "Ulysses" was based, as it is an open influence in the reading of this novel by Umberto Eco, which is a paradox principles in general of the traditional poetic narratives in terms of construction and aesthetic dimension, as it is a novel that does not reproduce the concrete world, but considers it to be a starting point in the project of building an internal world that is an extension of the outside world, but not a companion.
